Elevator Pitch
As a technology leader, I strive to add value to an organization - whether it be a new startup, a stable business pursuing something new, or a struggling business trying to get back on a path to success - through creative problem solving, clever innovation, the integration of new technology and/or application of a new approach.
Within an organization, I recognize and serve 3 distinct stakeholders, each with critical needs
The product/end customer - product management, customer experience, smooth onboarding, quality throughout.
The internal entities that serve the customer - sales, support, billing, operations - all need clear, efficient access to info.
The development organization - clean architecture, clear design, repeatable processes, and an environment that fosters growth.
I manage through influence, not authority, favoring collaboration and consensus based on a common understanding of stakeholder needs, goals, and practical balance of business considerations.
Software is my medium. Software systems are my product. Trust, Empathy, Analysis, Creativity, Flexibility, Commitment and Accountability are values that guide me.
I thrive in environments where my balance as a product manager, technical architect, and hands-on developer can be brought to bear.
My motto: Think like a consultant; Execute like an owner. I believe it’s important to take a holistic view of an enterprise, to clearly identify its challenges, and to propose and execute projects in support of its business goals. But… play the long game. Business processes need to be sustainable, not just by the team you have today but by the team you will have tomorrow. Software must not simply work, it must be maintainable over the long term and able to grow. Technical debt it unavoidable and intangible, but it is a source of constant friction/drag and the plan must account for and address it. And finally, success rests on the shoulders of the team - a team that serves the customer, a team that serves itself and its participants, a team that that owns it.
