Background - Leadership and Education

For the latter half of my career, I've enjoyed leadership roles as an entrepreneur at technology startup-ups in and around Boston:

I co-founded an early on-line streaming music company, NextRadio, which grew to be the premier white-label streaming music service for a number of well known brands in the early days of internet.

I led the technology team for a mobile image recognition company, Mobot, leading to a successful acquisition within 2 years of the company's formation.  Mobot enjoyed a global customer base spanning print media, advertising, and entertainment.

I joined Right Networks, a $20M privately held, cloud provider to focus on refining internal business processes and building a framework that would allow the company to grow more rapidly, support customers more efficiently, and operate more reliably. The team's success lead to the company's successful acquisition by BV Investment Partners for $100M in under 4 years.

Recent engagements occupied different ends of the spectrum. Equality Cosmetics was a very early stage/stealth mode technology company just getting started with promising/ground breaking technology - the on-demand creation of custom cosmetics. Early in its life cycle, the company was acquired by a multi-national cosmetics brand (LVMH/Sephora) and rolled into their innovation arm.

Encompass-CX occupied a different niche. Created as an internal tool for an established consulting company, the product was spun off in an attempt to build and grow a SaaS analytics company/service. Largely self-funded, with a stable customer base over several years, the challenge was to reshape the product and target small/medium B2B customers, shorter customer acquisition cycles, and quicker turnaround of actionable results while maintaining the level of service expected by the legacy customers.

My most recent engagement in the healthcare space is focused on Population Health Management at the intersection of healthcare IT, Big Data, predictive analytics, and cloud computing. I’m focused on developing an API driven ecosystem and I’m responsible for overhauling the security architecture of the overall system.

My career started at AT&T Bell Laboratories developing digital networking products for the telecom and banking industries which led to leadership roles in several smaller technology companies focused on telecom, IVR, and internet commerce/security products.

I received my Master of Business Administration from Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management. I hold a Master of Engineering from Cornell's College of Engineering, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell.
